It is hard to come to terms with the fact that most people in the American church today have not read the Pilgrim’s Progress. What has been the second best selling book in human history is sadly receiving less and less attention. It is a tragedy that such a marvelous work should be forgotten. Derek Thomas gave a special series of lectures in which he took one passage of Scripture and coupled it with one chapter from the book. You can find the series here.

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. This is a website with much good info concerning Pilgrim’s Progress. At the website, click on the “articles and books” tab and then go to the commentary link. I printed this commentary out and it took almost a team and a half of paper!
I made several references to PP in my pastoral prayer this morning. I wondered how many people picked up on it.
