Readers of Feeding on Christ will know that I am a big fan of Shai Linne’s hip hop. The following song is powerful because it represents the seriousness of the call of the High Priest and the holiness of the work to which he was called:
Shai Linne – High Priest

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve. (Romans 16:17-18)

How could you not love Reformed Hip-Hop livin’ in Philly? Keep flossin’ His glory down in Jawja. “The comin’ wrath? W’aint gotta worraboutit!”
Shai Linne is so solid theologically. I am convinced he is more theological than a lot of so called “Reformed” ministers.
I’m about as unHip-Hop as you can get, middle aged white guy who grew up in suburbia. Shai Linne has challenged every notion I had about God’s use of a variety of musical styles. It is plain to see that music in the hands of people who are committed to exalting Him, God sees fit to glorify Himself through it.
