Phil Ryken came and preached at Christ the King on Sunday night. We ask him to come and baptize Elijah. It was a great service. Phil preached from Jeremiah 36. The title of the sermon was “The Word Above all Earthly Powers.” It was a special time, having our son baptized and being exhorted to teach him to be a man of the word of God. I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve. (Romans 16:17-18)
